DescriptionA single-storey house turned inwards — towards a courtyard with a single tree around which the whole home revolves.
The site. A narrow urban plot with a busy street to the north. Rather than open towards it, the house creates its own landscape at its heart.
The idea. A single flat roof with deep eaves gathers every room. Each space looks onto the atrium and receives light from two sides.
The light. The eaves shade the summer sun and let the low winter sun deep into the home. At night the house glows like a lantern around the dark court.
